Jon Bergen from Brechin Baptist Fellowship on Clerk Street, is hosting an ‘Art of Marriage’ conference at the church on May 31 to June 1.

The event is a video experience designed for church and community settings. The ‘Art of Marriage’ consists of six video sessions typically held on a Friday night and Saturday.

These videos combine dramatic stories, real-life testimonies, expert interviews, humorous vignettes and other teaching methods to lay out God’s design for marriage in a fresh, engaging way.

Guests attending the event are each provided a manual with projects to help them apply the principles taught in each session, augmented by dozens of articles and additional content to help them dive deeper.

To help Reverend Jon Bergen and Ruth Bergen host this event, Dan and Lin Leeds will also be available as facilitators for this Art of Marriage event. Dan has served Trinity Baptist Church in Fond du Lac, as pastor for 22 years. Lin has served as the administrative assistant for the church and now teaches elementary students at Trinity Baptist School.

Like every couple, the road of Dan and Lin’s marriage has not been without difficult times. Both will tell you that marriage is a lot more work than they had in mind that day. But they will tell you too of the rewards and gifts that accompanies their marriage.

So if you have the perfect relationship, then this event provides you with tools to help others. Of you are struggling and ready to call it quits this might be a last chance effort. But for most of us in the middle somewhere this will be a way to help make a working relationship better. This is for those already married or for those already in a relationship looking forward to marriage.

This event will have space for up to 25 couples. There is a cost of £30 per couple that will include the books needed for the event and lunch provided on the Saturday. The Friday session will start at 7 p.m. and the Saturday sessions will be from 10 a.m.
