The TSB in Kirriemuir has given its support to a local fund-raising drive to provide Christmas lights for the town.

It recently donated £125 to the Kirriemuir and Dean Area Partnership, which co-ordinated the fund-raising, as part of a nationwide community pride donation programme to help local causes that bring the community together or which need extra support during the festive season.

Gary Stevenson, branch manager, said: “Being part of our local community is really important to us at TSB and so we’re delighted to be able to help Kirriemuir Dean Area Partnership with this donation.

“We chose to donate this money because of the important work they do to make Christmas a special time for the local community with the sparkling Christmas lights.”

The bank’s community pride scheme allows branches and office sites to apply for a donation for a local cause that matters to them and their customers during the festive period.

TSB also has local charity partners each year and in September the Kirrie branch adopted DD8 Music, which supports local young people with free lessons in music, recording, mixing and organises the town’s annual successful Bon Fest event.
