THE Cathedral is very privileged to be hosting a service to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen on Sunday May 27 at 7pm. The guest preacher is the Queen’s Chaplain, the Very Reverend James Weatherhead.

Sunday, June 3 is Trinity Sunday, which traditionally is the festival of the Society of Friends of the Cathedral. The guest preacher for this service at 10.30am, is a former moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Reverend Alan Main.

On Friday, June 1, in the cathedral hall at 7.15 pm, the Rev. Dr Henry Sefton is to give a talk about his memories of Brechin and District’s ministers since 1937. This is the annual address to the Society of Friends. Anyone who is interested is very welcome to attend and admission is free. The AGM of the Society will follow after refreshments.

Royal memorabilia from the time of Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee to that of our present Queen can be viewed in the display case in the church. The Kirk Session are very grateful to those who have kindly lent the exhibits for display.
