Brechin Leisure Centre staff were in the charity spirit last Friday when they took part in Angus wide fund-raising for Children in Need.
Staff and customers at all Angus Leisure Centres helped raise an impressive £2,032.45 for the cause.
A post on the Angus Leisure Facebook page thanked all those who donated. It said: “We are proud to share that due to your generosity Leisure Services facilities raised the grand total of £2,032.45 for Children in Need.”
The post continued: “Thank you so much to everyone that contributed to our total and well done to everyone that took part in all the activities!”
The centre in Brechin raised £662, more than any other Angus location. To help raise the cash, staff and members of the centre took part in a nine hour BodyPump challenge, a Zumba challenge that seen participants don fancy dress.
The crèche team also got involved in the fund-raising action by auctioning off drawings in their Pudsey Gallery to parents. The centre also held a coffee morning.
The individual totals for the other leisure facilities were as follows:-
Arbroath Sports Centre, £130; Carnoustie Leisure Centre, £300.45; Forfar Swimming Pool, £82; Lochside Leisure Centre, £182; Montrose Sports Centre, £425; Saltire Leisure Centre, £120; Webster’s Sports Centre, £131.
