Brechin nurse Frances makes a ‘life-shaving’ decision

Brechin nurse Frances Jeram is to have a sponsored head-shave for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people and their families.

Frances will be getting up close and personal with the hair clippers on Saturday, May 23.

It is all part of CLIC Sargent’s Big Buzz Campaign, which encourages people to become a “life-shaver” to support children and young people with cancer, many of whom lose their hair during treatment.

Frances said: “I’m shaving my head for CLIC Sargent because I have been inspired by the work they do with children and their families.

“I am so lucky to have a healthy wee granddaughter and would only wish good health and happiness for every child.

“I feel nervous about the shave but children being treated for cancer don’t have a choice about losing their hair.”

She added: “The money is going to a fantastic cause in CLIC Sargent and that is what’s inspiring me to go through
with it. I am hoping to raise £500 to help children and young people who are coping with cancer.”
