Brechiners are urged to pick up Fairtrade flag

BRECHIN’S Fairtrade Steering group need syour help!

Group members are currently putting the finishing touches to their application for Brechin to become a Fairtrade city, and are asking local people who use fair trade products in their work place or community groups to get in touch.

A spokesperson said, “We know that most of the schools and churches in the Brechin area use fairtrade tea and coffee either on a daily basis or for special events, but the fairtrade foundation have asked that we also provide details of workplaces and community groups who use fairtrade products.

“We have managed to fulfil almost all of the requirements to achieve fairtrade status for Brechin, and would be delighted if we can have a few names to add under this heading.”

The steering group would also welcome anyone who would like to join them to help in the promotion of fairtrade in the Brechin area.
