Brechin Rotary Club held its Burns Supper last week at the Caledonian Hotel when President Ian McFatridge presided over the tribute to the Bard.
Club member John Cavanagh organised the evening.
Ronald Baird started the evening with the Selkirk Grace, and David Myles gave the address to the Haggis, which was “guitared2 in by Andy Shanks.
Eric Summers from Kirriemuir delivered the Immortal Memory, exploring new angles of the life and behaviour the Bard.
This led to John Cavanagh’s rather irreverent Toast to the Lasses although Alison Summers was more than equal to the task of replying on behalf of the fairer sex.
This year the club was extremely fortunate to have the musical talent of Katie Sutherland and Victoria Keith who sang songs of the Bard, and Andy Shanks with a most entertaining steel guitar set.
