Following the recent announcement by AP Jess that it is to reopen its abattoir based on the town’s Montrose Road, the business is keen to reassure local residents that it is not planning to recommission its incinerator as part of the Brechin operation.
Allan Jess, managing director AP Jess explained: “Historically there have been some concerns raised by residents regarding the incinerator at our Brechin site.
“However, I would like to personally reassure everyone that we do not have now, or indeed any future plans to recommission the incinerator as part of our operation.
“The Brechin site, once fully up and running, will provide around thirty much-needed jobs, as well as boosting the town’s economy in general, as we will be, wherever possible, using local contractors, suppliers and services.
“As a major local employer we take our responsibility to be a good neighbour very seriously.
“The reopening of our site is great news for us and for Brechin and I am really looking forward to working closely with local residents to ensure we can all benefit from the opportunities that this new venture will provide.”
