Council promotes fisheries fund

Angus Council economic development is to hold two events to help local organisations or businesses to gain funding from the Angus Coastal European Fisheries Fund.

The fund will support diverse projects which will have strong and lasting community benefits, ranging from skills and training for young people to renewable energy, tourism, and food and drink. The fund can support initiatives such as training courses in traditional boat building skills aimed at young adults, or the upgrading of fishing vessels into pleasure boats to increase activities for tourists and visitors to the area.

It can also help to promote the high quality produce available from the Angus coastal area including smokies and soft fruits through enhanced business partnerships.

The events promoting the fund will be held from 6.30-8.30pm on Monday, June 25 at Angus College, Arbroath. The second event takes place on Wednesday, June 27 in Montrose Library from 2pm – 4pm. All welcome. For further details contact Rhonda McFarlane 01307 474849 or email
