Nail technician wins top gong at awards

Edzell Woods nail technician, Christina Pert, has proven her skill coming out top at the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2013.

Christina, who works at Bespoke Hair and Beauty in Laurencekirk, took home the The Expert Nail Technician Award from this year’s award ceremony held in Glasgow.

Taking place on Sunday, May 26, Christina was presented her award by The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Goodger in a celebrity packed ceremony at the Hilton Hotel.

Now it its third year, this industry-endorsed event, provides a super opportunity for Salons to be recognised for their excellence, flair, style and dedication to their art.

The Awards are a celebration of excellence within the Beauty Industry in Scotland, paying tribute to individuals and businesses who demonstrate professionalism and creativity.

Bespoke Hair and Beauty were shortlisted finalists in five categories for this years awards: Best Beauty Salon, Best Hair Salon, Best Website/Social Media, Gail Craig for Expert Make up Artist andChristina Pert for Expert Nail Technician.

The awards featured 18 categories in total, celebrating and rewarding success in every discipline of the industry.

The girls were delighted that Christina won her award.

Christina, who was up against seven other finalists in this section, explained her joy of coming out top: “I am so shocked, but it feels amazing to take the award home for Bespoke.

“I’m so happy. But would love to say a huge thank-you to all my clients.”

The salon is no stranger to award ceremonies and last year won the Beauty Salon of the Year 2012 award at the Official Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2012, where Christina was also named as a finalist in the Nail Technician category.
