March is gearing up to be a busy month for Brechin Library.
Today (Tuesday), archives manager Fiona Scarlau visited the library’s Reminiscence Group and took along with her some previously unseen photographs by the well known local photographer Ken Hay.
Staff are also set to celebrate World Book Day (Thursday, March 6). This year, the library are running a competition for junior readers and a free prize draw to win a signed book by author Christopher Brookmyre for all adult borrowers.
There will also be a special give away on Wednesday, March 23, to mark World Book Night. Specially selected volunteers will be giving away gift of a book to people who may not read regularly in order to encourage a love of reading.
And the final big event planned for the month, is the Sow into Spring on the March 31, where the library will be hosting a free talk by local enthusiast, Alistair Gray, on ‘Exhibition Vegetable Growing’ at 6 p.m. in the Library, everyone is welcome to attend.
