The Brechin and District Choral Union’s annual Carol Concert is planned to take place, weather permitting, in St. Andrew’s Church at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, and will follow its familiar pattern.
There will be a chance for the audience to sing some of the well-loved carols like ‘Good King Wenceslas’ and ‘Joy to the World’. The choir will contribute choral arrangements of several pieces of Christmas music. The hour long programme will include readings and instrumental music.
Afterwards there will be an opportunity to socialise over refreshments. The accompanist will be David Vernon and the conductor Bernard Liddiard.
There is no admission charge but donations to defray the cost of purchasing music would be appreciated.
December is a busy month for the members of the Choral Union who have been invited to take part in a service of Choral Evensong in St. Andrew’s Church on St. Andrew’s Day (November 30) at 6 p.m. They will also take part in the Carol singing at the Cross at 12.15 p.m. on Saturday (November 29) as part of the Christmas in the City celebrations.
