Care Accolade finalists revealed

Tayside Council on Alcohol, Angus Young Persons Team have been named as a finalist in the Children and Young people section of the 2013 Care Accolades awards.

The full list of 26 finalists across the nine categories are as follows:-

Investing in the workforce, developing practice - Cairelott Nursery, Staff Development Programme; Scottish Drugs Forum, Addiction Workers Training Programme; Cornerstone, Student Placement Programme

Working better, working together - Falkirk Council/Forth Valley NHS, Falkirk Falls Management Project; Argyll and Bute Council, Community Dementia Team; Turning Point Scotland, Cree Studios.

Working with local communities - HC-One, Arcadia Sound; Children 1st, Chillout Zone, The Protector;

Children and young people - Wellington School, Welly Boyz Music Project; Tayside Council on Alcohol, Angus Young Persons Team; Cornerstone, Children’s Fostering and Family Placement Service.

Adults and older people - Viewpoint Housing Association, Craft Cafe; Quarriers, Go4IT; CrossReach, Threshold Glasgow.

Innovation and redesign - Homeless Service, Perth and Kinross Council, Homeless Support Team; CrossReach Threshold Glasgow Day Opportunities; C-Change Scotland, Strategic Intent Mapping.

Personalisation of services - Alzheimer Scotland, Development Team; HRM Homecare Services, Futures Project; Care Management Services, Project Armour

Investing in preventing offending and reducing offending - Includem, Gangs Project; North Lanarkshire Council, Lanarkshire Community Bridges Project; Dundee City Council Social Work Department, Women Offenders Team.

One to watch - Shelter Scotland and Relationships Scotland, Safe and Sound Project; Alzheimer Scotland, Dementia Dog; Cornerstone, Positive Tracks.

The Care Accolades, now in its 10th year, is organised by the Scottish Social Services Council to showcase the excellent work happening in social services across Scotland.

The finalists and guests including the Minister for Children and Young People will find out who has won at the afternoon tea and award ceremony at Perth Concert Hall on May 31, 2013.
