‘Reconciliation in Israel and Palestine’ will be the topic of a presentation to be given in Brechin by Bishop Richard Llewellin.
Bishop Richard, who is assistant bishop of Canterbury, has recently returned from working in Bethlehem.
The meeting is sponsored by Brechin Churches Together and is being held at St Andrew’s Rectory, 9, Castle Street, Brechin at 7.30pm on Monday, September 5 and is an open meeting.
Bishop Richard has seen at first hand some of the factors that make it difficult for Palestinians and Israelis to live together in peace and the challenges faced by the different faith communities in the region.
He was working in the area with the Ecumenical Accompaniment programme of the World Council of Churches which in Britain is organised by the Society of Friends.
Further details are available from The Rev. David Mumford, chair of Brechin Churches Together, on Brechin 622708.
