A fund raising initiative to mark a charity’s 25th birthday has resulted in over £13,000 being raised.
Scottish Huntington’s Association kicked off their birthday celebrations by running a charity shop in Brechin, followed by further charity shops in Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus, as well as a Madhatters Tea Party and Family Fun Day in Coupar Angus in July.
Mary Cunningham, who works with the charity, said: “We made the amazing total of £13,028.18.
“A big thank you for all the donations, supporters and friends we have made along the way.”
Scottish Huntington’s Association is the only charity in Scotland that supports families of those with the condition. Huntington’s disease is a hereditary progressive condition that causes changes to muscle control, thinking processes and may cause long-term mental health issues.
