Davidsons Chemist, which has a branch in Brechin, has announced it will be supporting Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance in 2015.

Staff, patients and customers were given the opportunity to choose the company’s charity for 2015.

Over 3,000 votes were cast online, with Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) emerging as the preferred choice.

Branches will raise cash for the charity through profits from the Scottish Government carrier bag charge, in-store collection cans, fundraising events and for every new ‘like’ Davidsons’ page receives on Facebook, they will donate £1 to funds, up to a maximum of £1,000.

Staff and crew at Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance said they were “overwhelmed” by the public show of support for their life‐saving service.

Sally Cameron, SCAA’s Head of Fundraising, said: “SCAA could not operate without the support of the public and to know that Davidsons Chemist customers in communities we serve and our supporters have taken time to vote online for us is really fabulous.”

She added: “The Scottish public has a big heart and we can’t thank them and Davidsons Chemist enough for their support this Christmas.”
