Over 100 Brechin children enjoyed a day of crafts and singing on a recent day off from school due to in-service training. The Damacre Centre and Gardner Memorial Church were full of children aged five to 11 who made festive sweets, gifts and decorations and learnt about why Christmas is a time of celebration. Brechin Cathedral Storytellers Drama Club acted out the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in words and music.
This is the third event run by Brechin Explorers, a group of volunteers from local churches. The Rainbow Charity shop, run by St Andrews Church in Brechin, presented a cheque to the group to contribute to expenses and running costs of these and future events. Pictured are, from left, Mrs Liz Howson (Brechin Explorers), Mrs Shirley Crozier (Rainbow shop) and Mrs Wendy Don (Brechin Explorers) with one the children.
