Christmas cracker event

A GROUP of fund-raising friends from Brechin are inviting you to a special event they are currently organising in aid of a well known children’s charity.

A Christmas Cracker Afternoon will be held at the Cathedral Hall in Brechin on Saturday, November 24, from 1 to 4 p.m, offering shoppers a unique opportunity to get gift and glamour ideas for the party season. All proceeds will go to Rachel House, the CHAS hospice at Kinross which provides care and support for children with life-shortening conditions, and their families. It is hoped the money can be used towards a Christmas party or gifts for the children.

Behind the event are Marion Harper, Vera Galt, Jess Christie and her daughter Sheonagh, who, through various fund-raising ventures in the last few years have raised more than £18,000 for a number of good causes.

A spokesperson for the group explained: “We have invited along a variety of stallholders who will have on display ideas including jewellery, fragrance, candles, handmade crafts and gifts for sale and order.

“We are also delighted that some friends from the beauty industry will also be on hand to give demonstrations and tips on hair, makeup and nail art, with appointments being made in advance for some treatments on the day.

“Entry is £2 and includes a tea, coffee or mulled wine and a festive fancy of your choice. There will also be a bottle stall and raffle, for which all donations would be gratefully received.”
