Brechin’s Christmas tree in St Ninian’s Square took a battering by the high winds last night (Wednesday).

A weather warning for strong wind had been issued for the area by The Met Office, and the wind certainly took it’s toll on the tree, with it snapped in two by late evening.

The Christmas tree in the High Street fared better during the stormy weather, with the barriers around it falling over.

Angus Council has announced that it will replace the tree on Monday (December 14)
