St Andrew’s Episcopal Church raised over £1400 when they held their ‘Magical Family Fun Day’ in the church grounds on May 23.

The fun day was to help raise much needed money for the church and its community outreach work, with the final total an impressive £1450.

Margaret Watson the Fete convenor said: “Faith, Hope, Charity, Unity and Love were there in abundance. Faith that was needed to hold an outdoor event. Hope that people would come. They came alright, up to four generations of families and friends flocked in through the gates to give support and to have fun.

“Charity is something that the Brechin community are not lacking and they did it again. Unity of everyone pulling together and achieving and enjoying just being together.

“Love, that was evident through the family and friends who came along and of course we had St. Andrew on our side for added the strength and determination to complete a perfect day out for all ages. Congratulations go to all the winners of the competitions and the raffle draw.

“Special thanks to the Brechin Brass Band for providing wonderful music during the afternoon. With so many other groups and people to thank we would need the entire newspaper to cover these.”

Margaret will be writing to all who gave their time on the day, entertained us, presented demonstrations, donated money and food, sponsored activities, provided raffle prizes and generally made it possible for the event to be the huge success.
