A local sports group recently donated strips and tracks suits to help children in Rwanda.

Brechin City Youths Football Club made the donation after being contacted by Holly McDade, a pupil at Dundee’s Baldragon Academy.

The school had organised a trip to Rwanda to help with various projects supported by Comfort Rwanda, a Scottish charity set up in 1999 to help survivors of the genocide.

Upon her return from the trip, Holly assured Brechin City Youth chairman, Clark Renilson, that the strips “went down a treat”.

The pupils worked with the Street Children Project, run by the World Health Organisation, and the project has it’s own football team so the donation was well received.

Clark explained that the club wanted to “highlight this worthwhile cause.”
