Brechin Acorn Club will be celebrating its 30th anniversary when members reconvene for the first talk of the 2015/16 season on Wednesday, September 16.
The meeting, which starts at 2pm, takes place as usual in the Damacre Centre.
A spokeswoman for the group said: “We will be delighted to welcome Joe Wishart on this very special day of celebration and fond memories.
“The club still have a healthy membership and, because we meet every week, it is always surprising that we are able to fill our syllabus with very interesting and able speakers and demonstrators.
“Without them the club could not function - so many thanks to all the people past and forthcoming who accept the invitation to entertain us.
“Our celebration will continue with a trip ‘The Retreat’ for afternoon tea on the September 23.”
The committee, who have been guided by president Anne Mitchell, hope the new syllabus meets with approval. A warm welcome has been extended to existing members and the group would be delighted to see some new ‘acorns’.
