The Brechin Macmillan committee are holding an Afternoon Tea in the Mechanics Institute on Friday (September 26) as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The fund-raiser, part of Macmillan Cancer Support, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m.
Entry tickets for the coffee morning are £4 for adults and £1 for children.
A spokesperson for the event explained: “Mrs Isobel Luke will be playing background music which will bring a relaxing atmosphere to afternoon tea.
“Every day in the North of Scotland 18 people will be given the devastating news that they have cancer. So far Macmillan has 167 nurses and professionals working in the area. In 2013 Macmillan’s support line helped 723 people with questions and worries in the North of Scotland.
“The unfortunate thing is that by 2030 there will be 87,900 people living with cancer in North Scotland. Macmillan want to help more people by providing a constant source of support and every pound raised will go to ensuring their goal.
“Please come along on Friday, listen to music, enjoy a cake or a sandwich, have a relaxing afternoon and help to support those affected by cancer.”
