Proposals for new housing at Dubton, Brechin, have been given the green light by Angus Council’s development standards committee.

At a meeting on August 25, the committee approved plans by Scotia Homes to build 99 homes at the site subject to conditions.

The site is bounded to the north by the A90 trunk road, to the east by Pittendriech Road and North Latch Road, to the west by Dubton Farm and Brechin Business Park beyond and to the south by further agricultural land.

Plans by the developer also include a community woodland, that would run adjacent to the dual carriageway and additional landscaped open space areas is proposed on the eastern boundary, with a games area in the west of the site.

In the report to the committee by Vivien Smith, head of planning and place, it was stated that it be approved as “the development will provide housing in a manner that complies with relevant policies of the development plan”.

The report also listed the 18 conditions attached to the approval of the application.
