Council warns of doorstep callers

Angus Council’s trading standards team is urging residents not to employ uninvited doorstep callers.

A spokesperson said: “Residents are advised to be wary of any doorstep caller looking to carry out gardening or building work. These callers are unlikely to be known to you and therefore you do not know if they are qualified or knowledgeable about the work to be done. If you do need work on your property or garden it is better to use a reputable local trader preferably one that has been audited and is part of the Angus Reputable Trader Scheme. You can search for a firm on our website, or by calling ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778.”
