Police Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal road collision on A90 near Stracathro last Friday (August 21) are appealing for witnesses who may have further information to assist with enquiries.
The A90 was closed for over 12 hours following the incident, in which a pedestrian, 34-year-old Barry McRae from Stonehaven, died.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a black coloured Audi car travelling southbound on the A90 in the early hours of Friday morning.
It is understood that the Audi A3 travelled from Stonehaven on the A90 before stopping at a lay-by just north of the Brechin junction, near Stracathro, where the collision involving a pedestrian and another car occurred a short time later.
Anyone who was travelling on the A90 between 1.30am and 2.30am on Friday and who may have seen a vehicle matching this description, or the occupants, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
