Assault: witnesses sought

POLICE in Brechin are investigating an assault which occurred between 1 am and 1.15 am on Sunday.

A male was assaulted in Montrose Street, Brechin by another male whereby he sustained an injury to his face.

There appears to have been a verbal altercation prior to this and also a report of four males fighting at the top of Witchden Road about the time.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have heard a disturbance or witnessed these incidents.

There have also been a number of incidents of vandalism.

Sometime between 4 pm on Thursday, February 3 and 7 am Friday, February 4, person(s) unknown approached a secure and unattended Red Kia Picanto which was parked on the road outside an address in River Street, Brechin.

Damage was caused to the rear window of this vehicle.

Between 10 pm on Friday, 4 and 5 pm Tuesday, February 8 person(s) unknown, using an unknown implement, caused and smashed a kitchen window to a property in Market Street, Brechin.

Sometime between 7.30 pm on Friday and 9.45 pm on Saturday a concrete boulder was thrown at and damaged the kitchen door and the junior door at Brechin High School whereby two panes of glass were smashed.

Also, between 6 pm on Saturday, February 5 and 10.30 am on Tuesday, February 8 a digital metal safe was stolen from the City Computer Shop in the High Street, Brechin. Access was gained via a rear door of the premises.
