Fuel theft: witnesses sought

Sometime between midnight on Thursday, January 20 and midnight on Monday, February 21 a full tank of kerosene was stolen from a property in Aldbar, Brechin.

Police are appealing for witnesses or for anyone with any information to contact them on 0300 111 2222.

A police spokesperson said: “Be vigilant about this type of crime.

“If you see anything unusual or suspicious it is best to report this to us at the time of the incident and to provide us with as much relevant information as possible.

“This would include make, type, colour, and registration of any vehicle, its direction of travel and descriptions of any persons within the vehicle.

“Do not assume that their presence is legitimate. Ask questions and if you are not satisfied, call us to check it out.”

Sometime between 6 pm on Sunday, February 20 and 7 am on Monday, February 21, person(s) unknown stole a large amount of scaffolding which had been left unattended and lying on waste ground next door to a property in Strachans Park, Brechin.

Between 8 pm and 10 pm on Tuesday, February 22 person(s) unknown damaged a plastic bin and a wooden one together with damaging three 5ft wooden benches at the Brechin Golf & Squash Club.

Between 4 pm on Thursday, February 24 and noon on Friday, February 25 a sharp instrument was used to scratch the word “Boos” on the grill and bonnet of a black Renault Megane car whilst it was parked and unattended in the driveway of a house in Drumachlie Park. Does anyone know this nickname?

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault which occurred about 8.45 am on Friday, February 25 in Guthrie Park, Brechin. Both parties were female.

Just after midnight on Monday, January 31 and 10 am Monday, February 21, the door to a storage outbuilding within the grounds of Bilbirnie Mill Estate, Brechin was forced.

The padlock on the building was also sheared off, but nothing was stolen.
