Police investigate vandalism

POLICE in Brechin are investigating a number of incidents of vandalism.

Between 8 am on Wednesday, April 18, and 8 am on Thursday, April, 19, damage was caused to the roof of Glencadam Distillery, Brechin, when a brick or stones were thrown onto it.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone throwing stones in the area.

Sometime between Friday, April 13 and Monday, April 16, a vehicle was damaged by person(s) running over the bonnet whilst the vehicle was parked and unattended in High Street, Edzell opposite the Spar shop.

Sometime between Friday, April 13, and 9 am on Saturday, April 14, a wiper blade was ripped off a Glenesk Travel bus whilst it was parked in Manse Road, Edzell.

Sometime between 6 pm and 11.45 pm last Friday, a 3ft square double glazed window in the hallway of a property in Smalls Square, Brechin was smashed with a stone.

In addition, a fire extinguisher has been stolen from the sheltered housing accommodation at Newington Gardens, Brechin sometime between midnight on Thursday, April 5 and 9 am on Monday, April 16.

And, between 6.30 pm and 9.40 pm on Monday, April 16, a red Renault Megane which had broken down in a lay-by on the B966 road from Brechin to Edzell, was set on fire.

Police are appealing for information regarding these crimes and ask the public to contact them on 0300 111 2222 or call at the office.

Found property: This week Brechin police station is in possession of a banknote which was left in an ATM in the town on Thursday night.
