Sometime since Wednesday, August 24, an ornamental solar garden light was taken from a garden in Damacre Road, Brechin.
Witnesses saw three girls with the item in the late afternoon on one of the following days.
The item would be four foot high when assembled but has been unscrewed from its lower half and is now two foot in height, black with glass on four sides and looks like an old fashioned lantern.
Police are asking local residents to check their properties to see if it has been discarded. Call if you recall seeing the item in possession of these girls and can identify them.
A property in St Andrew Street, Brechin was entered sometime between 3.30 pm on August 14 and 10 pm on Monday, August 29.
The separate garage to the property was also entered and a light was left on in both places.
It would appear that both premises had been looked through and that a bike had been taken from the garage and subsequently left upside down in the roadway near to the property.
Police are appealing for witnesses or for anyone with any information to contact them at Brechin Police Office or telephone 0300 111 2222.
