Stolen stones

POLICE in Brechin are investigating the theft of a number of short crescent shaped coping stones from a wall near to Blaikie Mill, by Kintrockat, near Brechin.

The theft occurred sometime between 10 am and noon on Monday, April 18.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them and also for anyone seeing a white transit van in the area at the time, which may or may not be connected.

Police are also appealing for witness to an accident which occurred at about 3 pm on Monday, April 11 in Montrose Street, Brechin between the junction with Drumachlie Loan and the entrance to the Montrose Road Industrial Estate.

The accident involved a small black Renault Clio motor vehicle. This vehicle was being driven by a young female who was travelling towards Montrose.

A larger car, possibly green in colour, was travelling in the opposite direction and heading to Brechin.

The green motor vehicle was being driven by a middle aged male with a younger male as a passenger.

Part of the driver’s wing mirror of the Renault Clio was knocked off and a verbal altercation took place between the two drivers.

Sometime between 11.30 pm on Thursday, April 14 and 10 am on Friday, April 15 damage was caused to a double gazed living room window to a property in Wards Road, Brechin.

Police believe that either a stone or a pellet from an air weapon was responsible.
