Brechin’s old Dalhousie Bar has been granted planning permission to be turned into a betting shop.
Angus Council’s development standards committee met yesterday (Tuesday) to discuss the planning application to change the public house into a betting office for Ladbrokes Plc.
The building – located on the corner of Market Street – is a category B listed building under Historic Scotland, and has been since 1979.
Prior to the committee meeting, the application had been recommended for approval by Alan McKeown Angus Council’s strategic director of communities.
However, he recommended conditions including the opening hours being restricted from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m Monday to Sunday and that any noise from any ventilation, extraction or air handling units associated with the development do not exceed noise levels.
