Members of Brechin Scout Group are enjoying a well earned, and extremely deserved, break after their annual Christmas card delivery scheme.
The Scouts had accepted cards for delivery between December 3 until December 19.
Cards were posted in special boxes at participating local business, and sorted at the Scout hut, with approximately 22,000 cards delivered to homes across the town.
Elizabeth Kidd, who is Chairperson of the 1st Scout Brechin (9th Angus) Scout Group and Post Coordinator, commented: “This was close to the number we delivered last year and has been another great success.”
She added: “We’re very grateful to all the scouts, parents and volunteers who sorted and delivered the cards and to the shops that were kind enough to have the collection boxes.”
The delivery service, which costs 20p per card, has raised almost £4,500.
The money will be used for the furtherance of the sections and maintenance of the hall.
The Brechin Scout group has been running the Christmas delivery service for many years and it is the only fund-raising activity undertaken by the Group.
