Don’t keep found items

Police Scotland officers in Brechin are urging members of the public who may have found a lost item to make sure they hand it in.

Over the festive period an engagement ring, a gent’s black wallet, a Vegas mobile phone, a pair of gent’s spectacles and a black handbag containing make up and a white Ipod (which were Christmas presents) have been lost in Brechin.

Police are reminding the public that Theft by Finding is a crime and urge anyone who may have found these items to hand them to Police as soon as possible.

It is accepted that there may not have been any staff available at the Police Station if finders had attended to hand the property in, but the station assistant is available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or please call us on the 101 number to have any found item uplifted.

Unclaimed property at the station currently includes a hooded sweatshirt, a newspaper and lottery scratch cards. Call at the office during opening hours listed above to enquire or call 101.
