Edzell Drama Club has honoured its longest serving actor after her decision to take a final bow from the local stage.
Members of the drama club put on record their thanks and applause to village resident Frances Urquhart as their longest serving actor following her decision to bow out from the local stage and stand down from the club.
Members at their annual meeting paid warm tributes to Frances as a founder member and actor in scores of performances over many decades. Frances was also acclaimed for her many years work as club secretary, as well as organising publicity and show programmes.
Edzell Drama Club chairman, Anne Newsome, said: “We thank Frances hugely, she deserves an Oscar, if we had one.”
The club welcomes new members of all ages to act or help behind the scenes for the next show due to be staged at Edzell Inglis Hall on November 27 and 28.
Anyone wanting to join the club, or interested in finding out more, should contact Anne on 01356 648378.
