Students from Brechin and the surrounding area were celebrating last week at Dundee College’s last ever formal awards ceremony.
The college, which has now merged with Angus College to form Dundee and Angus College, held their last award ceremony last Tuesday, with over 1,500 guests attending the ceremony.
The ceremony recognised the achievements of those who have completed advanced programmes such as Higher National Certificates or Diplomas and post-graduate courses. Students receiving awards from the local area were as follows:-
Adele Archibald, Edzell (BA Hons Dance, Completion Award); Kieran McDonald, Brechin (City and Guilds Level 3 MA Maintenance and Repair); Eleanor Crabb, Edzell (HNC Acting and Performance); Ronald Church, Brechin (HND Business); Craig Henderson, Brechin (HND Computer Networking and Internet Technology); Ryan Ritchie, Brechin (SVQ Level 3 Amenity Horticulture); Anne Ross, Brechin (SVQ Level 3 Healthcare Support, Clinical); Scott Ferguson, Brechin (SVQ Level 3 Plumbing Modern Apprenticeship).
College principal Christina Potters said: “The real credit must go to our students. Throughout the year, they have worked very hard; they have not only succeeded in their studies but have also demonstrated many other successes.”
