Andover Primary hosted a Harvest Meal for invited guests on Friday when Nigel Don presented awards to competition winners.
Mr Don, who is the MSP for Angus North and Mearns, handed out prizes and certificates to pupils who had won the food poster competition held for local Andover rural school primary pupils.
The winners were selected by judges, who included Dr Wendy Wrieden from the Robert Gordon University and the Transition City Brechin group.
The poster competition winners were as follows:-
Ellie Lyon (P7 Stracathro), William Anderson (P5/6 Andover), Catriona Watson (P7 Stracathro), Zofia Golicka (P7T Andover), Jamie Baxter (P7 Stracathro), Lachlan Kiddie, (Edzell), P6 Group (Andover), Logan Duke (P7 Andover).
Highly commended entries came from the following pupils:-
Kayley Duncan (P7 Andover), Blakey Dunthorne (P4/5 Andover), Owen McLean (P5/6 Andover), Isabella Mimiec (P6 Andover), Tyler Webley (P7 Edzell), Gareth Hynd (P7 Andover).
Invited guests were able to sample food made with locally sourced ingredients and cooked by Andover Cooking Club, with assistance by the winners from the rural schools, using the winners’ ideas.
