Andover Primary School held a presentation of awards for their Burns Poetry competition.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Once again the standard of diction, pace and expression was very good and Mrs Peat, our adjudicator found the challenge of choosing winners difficult.

“Well done to everyone.”

Winners were as follows:- Primary one: 1, Tyler Seymour, Traffic Signal; 2, Isla Paterson, Traffic Signal; Primary one/two (P1 winners): 1, Jonathan Shaw, Traffic Signals; 2 equal, Zoe Ewen,Traffic Signals and Abbie Reid, Traffic Signal.

Primary one/two (primary two winners): 1, William Riddell, Roguey Poguey; 2, Zuzanna Popiela, Crocodile.; Primary two: 1, Jurida Jasmontaite, Roguey Poguey.

Primary three: 1, Niamh Coutts, Robin Reidbreist; 2, Sarah Flinter, Zebra.

Primary four: 1 equal, Heather Dallas, My Wish, Keinin Campbell, My Wish, Ellen Donald, My Wish, Ayden Fairlie, My Wish.

Primary four/five(four winners): 1 equal, Stephany Pozo, My Wish, Mia Clubb, My Wish, Isabella Mimiec, My Wish; 2, Zannah Adam, My Wish.

Primary four/five(five winners): 1, Julia Gawrysiak, Dog Show. Primary five: 1, Stuart Cameron, Tattie Howker; 2, Magda Tracz, Dog Show.

Primary six: 1, Lauren Strachan, Haggis Huntin;2, Fraser Clark, The Auld Troot.

Primary seven T: 1 equal, Elena Williamson, A Dug A Dug, Wallis Mathieson, A Dug A Dug, Brooke Moir, A Dug A Dug, Allyn McLaren, Fitbaw in the Street.

Primary seven B: 1 equal, Charley Hancox, Cuddle Doon and Hannah Church, Cuddle Doon; 2 equal, Erin Scorgie, Address to Toothache and Robyn Bruce, Cuddle Doon.

The school also held a Scottish music competition, adjudicated by Mrs Margaret Jamieson which saw the following winners:-

1, Loch Lomond - Anna Bergen (violin); 2, Polka/Britches full of Stitches - Stevy Murray (violin); 3, Dark Island - Charley Hancox (violin).

Highly commended - Ye Banks & Braes - Hannah Mimiec (viola).
