Angus College hairdressing students headed to Aberdeen Beach Ballroom on Monday to compete in the Aberdeen College North East Hair and Beauty Festival, including Brechin’s Morgan Cameron.

This annual event, which is now in its ninth year, and is organised by Aberdeen College, sees the crème de la crème of hairdressing and beauty therapy students participate in competitions which range from fantasy make-up and ladies commercial cut and blow dry through to manicure, cover girl make-up and the ever popular ladies high fashion and ladies evening style.

Students from Scottish colleges and qualified stylists from hair salons are invited to participate, and with over 400 competitors competing for top prizes, there is plenty to see.

It’s a nail-biting day for competitors, but a fascinating day for spectators who can sit back and watch as models are transformed before their very eyes.

Angus College hairdressing lecturer Debbie Donaldson said: “Although we have had a great deal of success in previous years, we didn’t do so well last year, but the students have been working extremely hard to prepare so fingers crossed we’ll bringing home some titles this year.”
