Work has officially begun on the new Brechin Community Campus today (Wednesday, July 2).
The campus, a £26.5 million project to create a modern educational and community facility in the town, will incorporate the replacement for Brechin High School, enhanced community leisure facilities, and a performance space and accommodation for adult learning and youth activities.
The Scottish Government’s finance secretary, John Swinney MSP, was on hand to cut the first sod to mark the start of the project’s construction phase.
He said: “I am pleased that we could contribute over £14 million in funding for the construction of the new Brechin High School which will provide state of the art accommodation for more than 1,000 pupils.”
