MEMBERS of Edzell Playgroup are preparing for their open day with the help of their new manager.

A great HMIE report has recently rewarded all the hard work from staff, children and parents alike at Edzell Pre-School Playgroup and now they are delighted to offer a warm welcome to their new manager Mrs Janet Easton.

Janet’s 35 years of extensive pre-school experience will greatly enhance the efforts and hard work of the current staff.

Edzell Pre-School Playgroup follows the national ‘Curriculum for Excellence’ which was built upon research and evaluation of good existing practice within all sectors of Scottish Education.

Now settled in, Janet says: “I’m excited and privileged to be working with the children here at Edzell,

“I’m looking forward to having fun and helping them learn in this wonderful environment”.

One of the first projects Janet will tackle is to help the staff and children prepare for their open day which is being held at Edzell Church Hall from 10 am- to 12 noon on Wednesday, March 28.

The playgroup is opening its doors to everyone who would like to pop along and experience for themselves the lovely setting in which the playgroup is held and join in with the Easter-themed activities.

The Playgroup welcomes two to five year olds both funded (three-five year olds) and unfunded (two-three year olds) children for three hour morning sessions (9 am to 12 noon) and the group is also registered as childcare provider for tax credits.

In addition to the open day the busy parents have also had a big clear out and will be holding a Jumble sale on Saturday, March 31 at the Church Hall in Edzell from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
