A HUGE congratulations goes to members of the Maisondieu Primary School choir who scooped first place in the Arbroath Music Festival in the category for schools with a role of 75-plus.

The choir, which now consists of 73 children, took to the stage in the Webster Memorial Theatre in Arbroath and sang two contrasting pieces: ‘Lord the Light of your Love’ and ‘Meet the Flintstones’.

“The children sang with such energy and really got into the spirit of the songs,” explains principal teacher Mrs Chalmers.

“They were a credit to their school and were most definitely worthy winners,” she added.

The pupils would like to thank Miss Marshall and Mr Gillies who work with the choir and also the parents who gave up their time to help take the choir to the competition.
