This year’s final of the Music Maker Competition was held on June 14 at Maisondieu primary school (writes the Maisondieu Pupil Press Team).

Mrs Brenda Simpson, retired depute head of Maisondieu, began the competition and donated a beautiful glass trophy for the overall winner.

The competition is a yearly event and is open for any pupil in primary six or seven.

The competition was judged by external judges:- Mrs Diane Heron, Mr Michael Gillies and Mr Martin Smith.

This year’s proud winners were James Sim, winner of the instrumental category, Zoe Nicoll, winner of the strings category and Kai Henderson winner of the voice category.

The overall winner was Sarah Robertson who played ‘Edelweiss’ on the viola.
