Pupils from Brechin High School and Montrose Academy are to host a joint concert to celebrate music from the movies associated with the two world wars.
Instrumental pupils from both schools were busy in the lead up to the summer holidays rehearsing a programme of popular and iconic songs for the concert which will take place on Tuesday, September 2.
It is not just musical pupils that are involved in the creation of the joint venture.
A spokesperson for the event explained: “Staff and pupils from the Social Subjects and Language and Communication Departments are working on a commentary, which will bring the stories of World War One and World War Two to life. Pupils in the art department have produced war inspired paintings for display, and the Computing Department is providing clips from the relevant movies to be shown throughout the evening.
“Staff and pupils of the two secondary schools are no strangers to working together, and are looking forward to another joint venture.”
The concert will also act as a fund-raiser, with money raised at the event going to a war related charity.
The event will be held at Brechin High School on September 2, with the programme of events set to start at 7 p.m.
Entry to the concert is £5 for adults, and £2 for concessions.
