Pupils at Stracathro Primary School - especially their Eco committee - have been busy in their first few weeks back at school.

The committee explained what they have being doing in an article the pupil wrote themselves.

They said: “The ECO group at Stracathro Primary School has been working towards their Green Flag Award.

“Pupils have been busy trying to make the local countryside more pleasant.

“Each week two pupils volunteered to go out during their lunch hour with gloves and litter pickers and collected rubbish along the roadside around Stracathro school.

“Over the weeks they collected a lot of bags of rubbish which consisted of many drinks cans, bottles, cigarette packets and food containers.

“The pupils of Stracathro school are very careful to put all their litter in the playground bins and would like it if people in cars took the same care to place litter in bins or take it home.”
