South Africa bound

Lathallan School pupils, Caragh Wilson and Sam Collins (both 18), and four former pupils who were part of the first Lathallan group to volunteer at Samara last year (Dan Dreelan, James Cowie, Daisy Dunnett and Chris Sands) are heading to South Africa this week.

Samara Private Game Reserve is one of the hubs of conservation and animal reintroduction efforts in the Great Karoo basin area on the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

The pupils will be taking part in the ongoing wildlife research and management projects run at Samara in conjunction with The Centre for African Conservation Ecology and will assist with the extensive land rehabilitation work on the 70,000 acre reserve.

They will also be returning to the Vuyani Safe Haven orphanage in Graaf Reinet.
