Andover Primary School’s sports day took place earlier this month. The event was rewarded with some favourable weather- no rain and occasional sunshine, which was a relief for the spectators.
Pupils took part in a variety of events, including a three-legged race, sack race, obstacle course, fun race and the egg and spoon race, to name a few.
Overall winners of the day were awarded a medal and an Andover pencil.
The individual winners for the boys are as follows:-
P1, Gabriel Williams; P2, Nathan Reid; P3, Charles Hood; P4, Liam McKay; P5, Scott Lamond; P6, Jack Wood; P7, Craig Donald.
The individual winners for the girls are as follows:
P1, Ellie McLean and Faye Leatherbarrow (equal); P2, Kinga Wysocka; P3, Chloe Craig; P4, Lauren Watt; P5, Alex Ewen; P6, Ynys Chaffer and Juliette Simpson (equal); P7, Wallis Mathieson.
The results of the primary seven championship were also announced, and trophies awarded. Pupils partipated in a host of events, such as javelin and long jump plus many more.
Cameron Cattanach and Craig Donald were joint winners for the boys, both getting a total of 16 points after taking part in a variety of events. The girls winner was Wallis Mathieson who scored a total of 15 points.
The house cup for sports day was also awarded. The results are as follows:
1- Strathmore, 379; 2- Dalhousie, 310; 3- Panmure, 296; 4- Southesk, 291. The school would like to thank all those who popped along to support the pupils on the day
