Angus North and Mearns MSP, Nigel Don, is encouraging students in his constituency to fill in application for financial support.

The Scottish Government pays the fees and a combination of bursaries and loans, based on household income, for these students. To receive their package as quickly as possible, students should complete their applications and send them to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) immediately.

Nigel Don, MSP for Angus North and Mearns said: “With record numbers of students going to university this year, I urge all students in my constituency to take some time out of their holiday to fill out the application form, there would be nothing worse than arriving at university with no finances in place and this will just add more stress to an already stressful time in a young student’s life.”

The SAAS Helpline, 0300 555 0505, has extended opening hours and is now open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, with advisors ready to help with applications.
