Two Brechin hairdressing and beauty students have made it to the national final Association of Hairdressers and Therapists competition.
Students from Dundee and Angus College’s Arbroath campus were at the northeast final held in Aberdeen, and seven of the students have now made it to the national finals in Blackpool.
Kirsty Baxter from Brechin came out top in the First Year Blow dry section, with fellow Brechiner, Ayla Robertson, receiving a second place spot in the avant-garde section.
The college also had a mother-daughter duo reach the finals, with Montrose woman Jennifer Burness coming second in the Ladies Evening Style, and her daughter Chloe coming in third in the First Year Blow dry.
Other students who were successful at the north east event included Arbroath students Stevie Jay McInally and Rebecca Gerrie who came second in the Skills Challenge and third in the Evening Style respectively. Kirsty Duncan from Kirriemuir came first in the Classical 50’s make up.
Course leader, Debbie Donaldson said: “These girls and the staff worked so hard to achieve this. They couldn’t deserve it more. It’s fabulous that all of them will be heading to the final in Blackpool on Monday, March 17.”
