Over 40 pupils and staff from Maisondieu Primary School enjoyed a terrific days volunteering at the House of Dun.

This is part of the exciting new partnership between Voluntary Action Angus and Angus Schools which aims to inspire all Angus pupils to volunteer.

Kay Robertson of Voluntary Action Angus who manages the youth volunteering movement, Saltire, said: “This was a brilliant day of fun, the pupils and staff were so enthusiastic and their volunteering efforts made a real big change in the Community garden”.

The Primary 7’s commented: “Personally, our favourite part of the trip was when we planted the flowers and vegetables in the gardens and when we had to pop the ends of the flowers!”

Kay added: “We continue with our efforts to encourage all schools and pupils to volunteer.

“Volunteering is really important to building new cultures of care within communities and we are rightfully proud of the high numbers of people in Angus who volunteer”.
